Editorial Standards

Editorial Policy

This document sets out the standards, values and processes that govern every piece of journalism published by Indus Time.

Editorial Independence

Indus Time is editorially independent. No advertiser, political party, government body or investor has any influence over our news coverage. All editorial decisions are made solely by our journalists and editors, guided by this policy.

Our newsroom operates separately from our commercial team. Advertising relationships never influence story selection, framing or tone. We do not accept payment for coverage.

Sourcing Standards

We require at least two independent sources for any factual claim that is not verifiable through official documents or direct observation. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is newsworthy, cannot be obtained any other way, and the source's identity is known to an editor.

We clearly distinguish between verified facts, allegations and opinion. When we cite statistics, we link to or cite the primary source. We do not rely on press releases alone.

Fact-Checking Process

Every article is reviewed by at least one editor before publication. For major investigations and stories with significant factual claims, a second editor reviews independently. All statistics, quotes and named individuals are verified against primary sources before publication.

Corrections Policy

We correct our errors promptly and prominently. Corrections appear at the top of the corrected article with a clear note describing what changed and when. We do not delete articles silently. Significant corrections are also noted on our social media channels.

To report an error, email corrections@industime.in.

Conflicts of Interest

Journalists may not cover organisations in which they have a financial interest, close personal relationships, or prior employment without full disclosure to their editor. Staff must disclose all potential conflicts before taking an assignment.

Opinion & Commentary

Opinion pieces are clearly labelled as such and do not represent the institutional view of Indus Time. Our news reporters do not write opinion columns to preserve the credibility of our reporting.

AI & Technology Policy

Indus Time does not publish AI-generated journalism. AI tools may be used by journalists as research aids, but all published content is written, fact-checked and edited by human journalists. Any use of AI-generated images or graphics will be clearly labelled.
